| Description |
English: Alnmouth across the River Aln Taken from Church Hill. The hill used to be joined to the southern end of the village, with the river running in a bigger loop behind us. But in storms of 1806 this was breached and the river changed course to that we see today. It cut off Church Hill from its village, although a new church, seen in the middle of the picture, was by then already in use.
There is still a bridleway across the river although this is not recommended, so to get here involves a three mile trip from the village. |
