| Description | Monument voor de gevallenen (1951) van John Grosman. Het ontwerp van jan Jans toont drie figuren, die respectievelijk moeder en kind, het verzet en de gedeporteerde voorstellen. Het monument is vervaardigd door beeldhouwer John Grosman uit Arnhem. Voor het monument liggen 16 granieten platen met namen van Almelose oorlogsslachtoffers onder wie veel joodse inwoners. het monument is niet alleen ter herinnering van de slachtoffers van 1940-1945. Er is bijv. ook een plaat met de namen van 12 tijdens de politionele acties in Nederlands Indië gesneuvelde mannen en van een Almelose militair die op een vredesmissie in de Sinaï in 1994 is omgekomen.Location: Almelo/The Netherlands |
