Summary
[edit]DescriptionAllt a' Ghlinne Mhòir - geograph.org.uk - 861793.jpg |
English: Allt a' Ghlinne Mhòir Glen Tilt/Gleann Teilt is a dramatically deep glen thanks to glacial action along a fault. Burns flowing into the Tilt all have to fall some distance from the plateau country and as a result erode deep gorges like this one. The steep terrain provides a refuge for trees and the gorges are often wooded. A line of birches on the left shows where the Allt Fèith Làir joins the Allt a' Ghlinne Mhòir.
Along with the Tarf, Garbh Buidhe, the Allt a' Ghlinne Mhòir is one of the main feeders of the River Tilt. The hill is Meall na Spionaig. |
