Description
English: Allison GMT-305, the commercial version of the GM Research GT-305 gas turbine engine developed for automobile and truck use. In this picture, the output shaft is in the lower left corner, with the large exhaust ports on top. The two covers on either side of the output shaft are covering the drum-shaped rotating regenerators. This image was published in a presentation made by Allison to the Office of the Director of Defense Research and Engineering on 6-7 April 1959 and subsequently published by the US Federal Government.
