DescriptionAllentown Second Ward School - 1860.jpg	English: Possibly the earliest known photo taken in Allentown. This shows the Second Ward School, later known as the Garber Elementary School. The photograph was taken from the steeple of the St. Johns Lutheran Church, looking to the northwest. The School was located at South 5th and Maple Streets, with Hamilton Street running east-west behind the schoolyard. The photograph was taken in the winter of 1860, note the large amount of snow on the roof of the church and on the ground.
