Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Built in the early 20th Century, this building features a red brick exterior, low-slope roof enclosed by a parapet, copper-clad two-story oriel windows, one-over-one double-hung windows with stone lintels and sills, first floor retail shopfronts on Elmwood Avenue and Allen Street with prism glass transoms, and concrete pilasters. The building was best known as being home to Charles Incorvaia, aka the “Bubble Man”, in the corner third-floor apartment for several years, until his death at age 75 in January 2022. Incorvaia was known for blowing bubbles out of his windows, bringing a sense of wonder to the street below, inspiring artists and people in the community. The building is a contributing structure in the Allentown Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
