De stadhouder staande op een voetstuk omhelst de Vrijheid en krijgt van Godsdienst het orakelblad (de Bijbel) aangerekt. Rechts kijken de deugden Voorzichtigheid, Gerechtigheid en Kracht goedkeurend toe. Op de voorgrond is de Nijd verslagen door een vaderlandse held en de Nederlandse Leeuw, links op de achtergrond de tempel van eer en deugd. Met onderschrift van twee kolommen.
