Omschrijving: Allegorie op de inspiratie. Links staat Hercules die een doek ophoudt, geflankeerd door de waarheid en Standvastigheid. Rechts staan putti met een zeef in de handen, een derde putto verbrandt samen met een gesluierde vrouw boeken. In de lucht zetelt de Schrijfkunst die door een putto en een allegorische figuur met het eeuwigheidssymbool in haar handen wordt gelauwerd. Minerva houdt, bij wijze van inspiratie, de arm van de Schrijfkunst vast.
