Description
English: A Roman copper-alloy radiate of Allectus (AD 293-296), dating to the period c.AD 293-296 (Reece Period 14). LAETITIA AVG, reverse type depicting Laetitia, draped, standing left, holding wreath in right hand and anchor in left hand. C Mint, S A // C. cf. RIC V.2, p. 565, cf. no. 76. S A//C is a very rare mintmark and is only known for a handful of coins. RIC 76 has the reverse legend LAETIT AVG, rather than LAETITIA AVG. This is the first coin of this type Sam Moorhead has seen.
