English: The little god Amor who makes people fall in love here is represented as a follower of Bacchus, god of wine. The figurines were made in Egypt as ornaments for couch legs. Cow bone, Egypt, c. 2nd-3rd century AD. (Inv. 16.603-16.616)
Nederlands: Het liefdesgodje Amor wordt hier afgebeeld als volgeling van de wijngod Bacchus. De figuurtjes werden in Egypte uit been gesneden als versiering voor beddenpoten. Runderbeen, Egypte, ca. 2e-3e eeuw AD. (Inv. 16.603-16.616)
