A squib on the reverse side of a print released to the press (seen here) reads as follows:
- Allan [sic] F. Winslow, recently appointed secretary of the legation of the United States at Bogota, Colombia, leaves Washington shortly for his new post.
National photo company
A handwritten note was later added, reading "Died Aug 15, 1933".
Winslow's father-in-law was American diplomat William Richards Castle Jr.
