All Saints church in Mendham
Description All Saints Church, Mendham, Suffolk, mural monument to Richard Freston (d. 22 June 1722), died aged 68. Erected by his wife Mary Cooke, one of the seven daughters and co-heiresses of Sir William Cooke, 2nd Baronet (died 1708), of Brome Hall, Norfolk (Burke, John; Burke, Sir Bernard; Burke, Bernard (1841). A Genealogical and Heraldic History of the Extinct and Dormant Baronetcies of England, Ireland and Scotland, p.129[1]). Arms: Azure, on a fess or three leopard's faces gules (Freston) (Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884, p.379) impaling Or, a chevron engrailed gules between three cinquefoils azure on a chief of the second a lion passant argent (Cooke, "of Linstead, Suffolk") (Burke, 1884, p.224)
