Summary
[edit]DescriptionAll Saints Church - tower and porch - geograph.org.uk - 1614098.jpg |
English: All Saints Church - tower and porch. All Saints church dates from the 13th century. Its large south porch houses a priest's chamber which can be reached by a stone staircase. The perhaps most noteworthy feature inside the church is the alabaster tomb of Sir Edmund de Thorp and his wife Joan > 853005. A few years ago the tomb underwent a substantial and costly restoration to save and preserve it for future generations. The octagonal font > 853004 dates from the 16th century. The church underwent major internal work in the 1990s and is presently kept locked because of recent fire damage. |
