Summary
[edit]DescriptionAll Saints Church, Sudbury, Derbyshire - geograph.org.uk - 46007.jpg |
English: All Saints Church, Sudbury, Derbyshire. There has been a church in Sudbury since before the Domesday Book was compiled in 1086. This may have been Saxon, was probably of a wooden construction and was very likely on the same site. It is thought that the Normans replaced this with a stone building of which traces can still be found today. In the 1000 years since it has been rebuilt (around 1300 AD), and had numerous alterations and additions. It stands to the west northwest of Sudbury Hall (NT).
