Description
English: All Saints Church, Brandon Parva, Norfolk - Wall monument to John Warner (1681-1702), lord of the manor, who died aged 21. Inscribed: Near this place lieth the body of John Warner, gent. Son of Richard Warner, gent. and Elizabeth, his wife, who, among his many charitable acts, did, by his last will and testament, give to the poor of this parish ten pounds a year for ever; he died February 2, 1702, aged 21 years. (per Mostyn John Armstrong, History and Antiquities of the County of Norfolk, Vol.IV, Norwich, 1781, pp.34-5, Hundred of Forehoe[1]). Also given in Francis Blomefield, An essay towards a topographical history of the county of Norfolk, Vol.II, London, 1805, p.469[2]

Arms of Warner of Brandon Parva: Sable, three bars trimells / triplices and a chieflet / fillet or ?? "bars trimells" per Francis Blomefield, An essay towards a topographical history of the county of Norfolk, Vol.II, London, 1805, p.469. Not listed in Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884. Nor are triple barrulets listed in most heraldry sources - double barrulets are termed "bars gemelles" (Latin: gemellus-a-um, twin (adjective)), thus it would appear triple barrulets should be termed "a bar triplex", plural "bars triplices" (Latin triplex = triple/threefold). Blomefield's "bars trimells" seems to have no logical basis in Latin, no word trimellus / tremellus or similar exists (Cassell's Latin Dictionary, Marchant, J.R.V, & Charles, Joseph F., (Eds.), Revised Edition, 1928). In French these seem to be called "tierce", which has a different meaning in English heraldry. Also the shallow chief is unusual - "The fillet is by some considered diminutive (of a chief)" (https://www.heraldsnet.org/saitou/parker/Jpglossc.htm#Chief).

John's father Richard Warner (1644-1684) married Elizabeth Berney (1658-1734), who survived him and married secondly John Frary (1658-1734), Gent., as is recorded on her ledger stone in the same church placed by her nephews John Berney of Westwick and Richard Berney of Norwich. (per Mostyn John Armstrong).

Descent of the manor

Text per Mostyn John Armstrong, History and Antiquities of the County of Norfolk', 1781:

(The manor of Brandon Parva was purchased from the Cock family by) Richard Warner, whose grandson, John Warner, held it to 1702, when he died, and gave the manor and demesnes thereof (which he charged with the annual payment of £10 every Candlemas-day, to be divided among the poor of this parish for ever) to his three aunts, Susanna, married to Mr. Nicholas Tidd, of Wells; Elizabeth, to Mr. Thomas Stoughton, of Hockering; and Mary, to Mr. John Frary. Susannah left issue Frances Tidd, who married Mr. Robert Chad, of Wells, and had issue Mr. Robert Chad, of Wells, who is now dead, and his third part enjoyed by Mrs. Elizabeth Chad, his widow. Elizabeth had issue Roger Stoughton, of Runhall, who left his third part to John Stoughton, his son, who is lately dead, and Mr. John Stoughton, of Wymondham, his son, is lord of a third part. Mary left issue Mary Frary, who married Mr. Edward Tidd, of Wells, whose fon, Mr. John Tidd, was lord of a third part .... The estate and manor, charged with the annual payment of £10 every Candlemas-day, to be divided among the poor of this parish for ever by John Warner, esq. is now the property of Gcorge Chad, esq. of Thursford; and many irregularities having been committed in the parish accounts, this valuable bequest of the hol a year to the poor has, by the great care, integrity, and vigilance. of the present worthy rector, the Rev. Mr. James Baldwin, been secured, and all disputes finally settled, for the use and benefit of the poor, by a lace appeal to the justices at their quarter sessions at Norwich.
