Summary
[edit]DescriptionAll Saints, the parish church of Brightlingsea - geograph.org.uk - 855239.jpg |
English: All Saints; the parish church of Brightlingsea The church is mainly perpendicular but inside there is evidence of a much earlier building. In the south aisle wall, west of the doorway, there is a round-headed recess with Roman brickwork that is probably the remaining doorway of an early Norman church. The beautiful tower is more like those found in Suffolk or Norfolk, though there is a similar one in Essex at Dedham. |
