English: A map of US states showing which mandate all single-person restrooms to be all-gender.
San Francisco (California), Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), Seattle (Washington), Washington (District of Columbia), West Hollywood (California), Austin (Texas), Cleveland (Ohio), New York City, Denver (Colorado)[1], and the US states of Vermont, New Mexico, New York State,[2] Illinois, and California - have passed measures mandating that single-occupancy toilets in public spaces be labeled as unisex (or gender-neutral). [3][4]Additionally, the 2021 edition of the International Plumbing Code(in use by 35 states, Puerto Rico, Guam, and DC) will require the same as individual states adopt the new edition of the code.[5]
