The identification is based on the picture's provenance / provenience and an obviously given family likeness. He was the sole child of the merchant, entrepreneur and patron Friedrich "Fritz" Bamberger (born on 15 December 1862 in Mitwitz, Upper Franconia, Kingdom of Bavaria; deceased on 29 June 1942 in Theresienstadt Ghetto, Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia).
Deutsch: Alfred David Bamberger (geboren am 18. August 1890 in Lichtenfels, Oberfranken, Königreich Bayern, Deutsches Reich; gestorben am 22. März 1956 in Irvington, Essex County, New Jersey, Vereinigte Staaten) als deutscher Rekrut in einer Uniform des Ersten Weltkrieges in Lichtenfels, Oberfranken, Königreich Bayern, Deutsches Reich.
