(Possibly Beard Art Galleries, Minneapolis, Minnesota). Gordon Bates, Minneapolis, Minnesota;[1] purchased by MIA in 1946. [1] Gordon Bates was the brother of Edmund E. Bates, who also owned works by Fournier in the MIA collection (see 'Farnham's Mill at St. Anthony Falls, Minneapolis', 44.23). In the Edmund Bates correspondence, he mentions that his brother Gordon owns four or five similar 'Minneapolis' pictures by Fournier. |
