Alexander Fereday MURRAY aged 18 Born 4 December 1867 Robert MURRAY aged 17. He was Baptised 9 December 1868 at St. Mary's on the Hill, Chester Sons of Lieutenant Colonel Alexander and Mary Ann Margaret Murray, nee Fereday. Grandsons of Mr and Mrs Fereday. Who with six men true to duty’s call faced death and lost their lives to save a drowning comrade in the South Atlantic. July 16 1886 1871 both sons and their siblings were residing with their parents at 8 Curzon Park, Chester the residence of their widowed grandfather Charles Henry Fereday. Their father was a Captain in the Militia, (Rifles). 1881 both sons were not in residence. Their father was a Major and Lt Colonel with the (Militia) Antrim Rifles and J.P. He was native of Ireland, mother from Tattenhall, Staffordshire 1891 their father was Lt Colonel with the 4th Royal Irish Rifles, residing with is family at Cedar House, 46 Home Hill, Lambeth, London Commemorated on a memorial in St Mary Without the Walls, ChesterSt Mary without the Walls |
