English: August 11, 2006 - Deputy Secretary Alex Azar presents an award of $1.5 million to Ken Brewer, the President of the SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) to provide funding to demonstrate the effectiveness of Frontier Extended Stay Clinics (FESCs) in providing health care services to isolated locations in Alaska and the continental United States. The grant will also pay for staff, equipment and quality assurance programs to expand and improve existing FESCs. |
