«Alessandro Allori, soprannominato il Bronzino dal nome del suo maestro e padre adottivo Agnolo (e con lui spesso confuso), fu uno degli artisti più celebri a Firenze nel corso del Cinquecento. Formatosi nella bottega di Agnolo di Cosimo, dove si perfezionò nel disegno e nello studio dell’anatomia umana, l’Allori completò il proprio apprendistato a Roma, rimanendo fortemente influenzato dallo stile dei grandi maestri del Manierismo. Dopo il ritorno a Firenze, l’artista venne nominato pittore ufficiale presso la corte medicea e, per poter rispondere al numero sempre crescente di commissioni, avviò una propria bottega. E’ probabilmente alla cerchia degli allievi di Alessandro Allori che, infatti, deve essere ricondotta l’opera qui presentata: una giovane donna, ritratta di tre quarti, rivolge lo sguardo verso lo spettatore. La carnagione candida, la ricca veste e i preziosi monili con perle che le adornano il capo, indicano che si tratti di una gentildonna appartenente all’aristocrazia fiorentina, anche se purtroppo la sua identità non è nota. La posizione della figura e l’attenzione sia per la descrizione minuziosa dei dettagli sia verso la resa naturalistica del soggetto, sono elementi che evidenziano come questo ritratto abbia strette analogie con le opere di medesimo soggetto realizzate dall’Allori nei primi anni Settanta del Cinquecento e che rendono quindi plausibile la possibilità che si tratti di un dipinto eseguito proprio all’interno della bottega del grande maestro da un suo stretto collaboratore.» [1] |
