Description
English: One of pictures taken of the outer gateway. A tower of 20 meters height blocks entry to the bridge crossing the ditch. It dates from 1211 and was refurbished in the 16th century, commemorated by an inscription by the one-but-last Mamluk sultan, recording the work by the local governor (1507). A door from the 1211 version is still in place.
