Aleppo Al-Sultaniyah Madrasa

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Entrance. Governor (Sultan) al-Aziz had this completed in 1223/4 to serve as a mausoleum for his father, Sultan al-Zaher Ghazi, who had died in 1216. The mihrab is a very good work, to the east and west there were sections that were restored after an eartquake in the 1940's. However, satellite pictures show the whole has been bombed out of existence.
