Summary
[edit]DescriptionAlectoria sarmentosa-2.jpg |
Misidentification: I can't identify this lichen from the photo, but Alectoria sarmentosa doesn't have giant soralia like that. (The structure in the picture is a soralia, not a pseudocyphella.) Millifolium (talk) 20:13, 25 March 2010 (UTC) Alectoria sarmentosa subsp. sarmentosa (Ach.) Ach., 1810 (photograph of a herbarium specimen taken through a dissecting microscope (x40) showing a pseudocyphella) Dwelling on a tree in Maine, USA; collected and identified by Elmer G. Worthley (No. L-450); specimen is now in the Lichen Herbarium of the New York Botanical Garden. |
