Guske filed for a quarter of the land adjacent to the Fuchs. He later took a claim on the land where the Guske home is now located. Albert married Susanna Gastrich on September 4, 1890 in LaCrosse, Washington. They had nine children (Albert and Agnes died at birth, Mary E. (age 12) and Lena (age 11) died of diphtheria.
