Summary
[edit]DescriptionAlbatross carcass and marine debris.jpg | Laysan albatross carcass on Easern Island. Nearly all carcasses found on Midway have marine debris in them. The percentage of birds that die from consumption of marine debris, or its effects, is still unknown. It has been estimated that albatross feed their chicks approximately 10,000 lbs of marine debris annually on Midway, enough plastic to fill about 100 of the curbside trash containers we use in Honolulu.
