| Description |
English: Aire near Rose Wharf. The river just below 1310677. The river craft seem to be permanent fixtures here. The large retaining wall supports a slip road off East Street. Above is 745547, built controversially with many Catholic features in the 1840s by Dr Bouverie Pusey, a member of the Oxford movement https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1375400 . To its right is the former St Saviour's School, dating from 1839-40, with little octagonal domed turrets https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1375366 . Behind this are the remnants of the Black Dog woollen mills. |
