Description
English: An RAF aircrewman from 18 Squadron, waits to take off for Iraq in a Chinook aircraft from the flightdeck of HMS Ark Royal.

ZA718 is the famous "Bravo November" of the Falklands Conflict in 1982 when this Chinook was the only helicopter to survive the stricken merchant vessel Atlantic Conveyor, as she was airborne at the time. Bravo November went on to provide a vital role in the conflict and still serves today, having flown in every RAF operational theatre since 1982.
