Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Aerial view of aircraft wrecks at Henderson Field, Guadalcanal (Solomon Islands), circa in late 1942. There are many wrecked Grumman F4F-4 Wildcats visible in the lower part of the picture, and some Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bombers. The larger wreck seems to be a Douglas C-47/R4D. At the top of the picture are a - apparently undamaged - Wildcat and a Boeing B-17E/F Flying Fortress.
