Description |
English: Aircraft of the Royal Air Force, 1939-1945- Bristol Type 156 Beaufighter. Beaufighter Mark VIF, X7883, on the ground at Filton, Bristol, following assembly at the Bristol Aeroplane Company's 'shadow' factory at Old Mixon aerodrome, near Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. X7883 has been painted in overall matt-black RDM2 night-fighter finish and is fitted with AI Mark IV aircraft interception radar. It was tested by the Aeroplane an Armament Experimental Establishment at Boscombe Down, Wiltshire, and then transferred to the USAAF in the Middle East. |
