Description
English: French Air Service Lafayette Escadrille insignia; bright brown masonite with Sioux chief head depicted. This reproduction of the Lafeyette Escadrille's aircraft insignia was commissioned for the Smithsonian Institution through the Works Progress Administration during the Great Depression. It was originally on display in the aeronautical section of the Smithsonian "Tin Shed". National Air and Space Museum :
