Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Air conditioning exhaust and behind, emergency escape, Bempton, East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
These bunkers (around 85) were constructed by the Marconi Company as principal contractor, and this was the biggest contract ever awarded by the UK government (and in relative terms still is) at £1 million each in the 1950s. The current cost is thought to be between £80 to £100 million each.
