English: Temperatures above reference average values continue to be recorded in Europe. According to the latest climate bulletin published by the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), January 2023 has been the third warmest January, with temperature anomalies reaching +5ºC peaks in Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia. The Eastern United States, Canada, Mexico, and Western Russia also saw above-average temperatures while below-average temperatures were recorded in Siberia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and neighbouring countries, or Australia. This image, created using data from the C3S Climate Data Store, shows the Surface Air Temperature Anomaly for January 2023 in Europe. The climate bulletin is available here. |
