Description
English: Chief Petty Officer Brandon Bashem, an aviation electronics technician at Air Station Kodiak, prepares to be overturned during Air Station Kodiak Shallow Water Egress Training chair training at the Base Kodiak pool, Kodiak, Alaska, Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012. In the SWET chair, Coast Guard members are required to perform several maneuvers to escape an overturned helicopter cockpit, such as cutting themselves free of the five-point seat harness and accessing the emergency oxygen stored on their survival vests.
