English: Dr. Steven J. Melnick, chief Department of Pathology and Clinical Laboratories at the Miami Children's Hospital, addresses Maj. Gen. Frank J. Padilla, 10th Air Force commander, during a tour focused on the hospital's implementation of the Lean system, a managerial process designed to help identify waste. Twenty-eight commanders from 10th Air Force participated in a two day seminar on the Lean system at the Homestead Air Reserve Base Aug. 10-11 in order to gain skills for implementing cuts that require the Air Force as a whole to abide by within the 2016 deadline. |
