English: Retired Col. Bruce Crandall (left), a Medal of Honor recipient, poses for a picture with a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter from Task Force Lobos, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division March 28. Crandall was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions as a UH-1 Huey pilot on the day of Nov. 14, 1965 in Vietnam. That day, he flew his helicopter into landing zone x-ray 22 times, withstanding enemy fire and a continuous threat from the north Vietnamese as he helped provide ground troops with needed supplies and medical evacuation capabilities. |
