Summary

[edit]
Description This is a nice example of a TBM-3E Avenger Torpedo Bomber. The TBM was used during WWII by the Navy and Marines for bombing and torpedo runs. This type of aircraft is the same type flown by former President George H. W. Bush during WWII. After serving in WWII, this TBM was surplused by the Navy and used as an aerial sprayer/tanker for many years. It is now based in Eureka, IL and is being slowly restored to a more military looking configuration.
