Op de achtergrond wordt het besluit verkondigd. Een groepje Joden zit te treuren met as op het hoofd. Rechts koningin Ester in haar vertrek waar ze een dienaar de opdracht geeft om Mordechai kleren te brengen zodat hij die kan dragen in plaats van zijn rouwkleed. Links naast het gebouw weigert Mordechai de kleren te aanvaarden. Nog verder op de achtergrond bidt Ester om een goede afloop. Onder de voorstelling een verwijzing in het Latijn naar de Bijbeltekst in Est. 3. Prent maakt deel uit van een album.
