English: Agriculture and industry This path and field alongside the river Aire are often flooded.
Of the six chimneys in the view, the two to the right (and most of the tanks and towers) belong to the closed Hickson & Welch chemical works; the two silver ones are a small electricity power plant on the Hicksons site; the two black-topped ones on the horizon are Ferrybridge power station the tops of its cooling towers are just visible above the hill toward the left of the picture. |
