Description
Deutsch: Der Sewansee ist mit zirka 78 km lang und 56 km breit. Er ist nicht nur der größte Süßwassersee Armeniens, sondern auch der größte des Kaukasus und mit seiner Höhe von etwa 1900 m über dem Meeresspiegel einer der größten Hochgebirgsseen der Welt. Er ist doppelt so gross wie der Bodensee. Im Sommer ist der Sewansee bei den Armeniern traditionell ein beliebter Ort für Badeferien.

English: Lake Sevan is the largest body of water in Armenia and the Caucasus region. It is one of the largest freshwater high-altitude lakes in Eurasia. The lake is situated in the central part of Armenia, at the altitude of 1,900 m (6,200 ft) above sea level. It is important for the Armenian economy: being the main source of irrigation water, Sevan provides low-cost electricity, fish, recreation, and tourism.
