Just look at the map of Burma, and youwill see that in the north and west it is joinedto India by land, while on the east it touchesChina and Siam. Although that is the case,it is much easier to enter Burma from thesea, since high mountains shut it off almostentirely on every other side. Because ofthis, it is not possible to go to Burma byrailway from any other country, and nearlyeverybody who goes there enters Rangoon,the big port near the sea on one of the manymouths of the Irrawaddy.
