English: U.S. Marine Gunnery Sgt. James L. Peebles, a platoon sergeant with Alpha Company, 3rd Combat Engineer Battalion and native of St. Louis, Mo., provides security as an Afghan National Army soldier 1st Brigade, 215th Corps Route Clearance Company sweeps a road for improvised explosive devices during a route clearance mission here, Dec. 12. The Afghan soldiers have taken the lead on over 200 partnered route clearance missions, and clearing more than 1000 kilometers of roads in southern Helmand. Marines of Alpha Company, 3rd Combat Engineer Battalion, train the ANA on proper route clearance tactics. |
