English: U.S. Air Force mentor Maj. Mical Kupke, right, takes notes as an emergency medical technician from the Czech Republic, second from left, demonstrates how to open an airway to members of the Afghan national army (ANA) air corps on July 25 at Kabul International Airport (KIA), Afghanistan. Maj. Kupke is assigned to the Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan (CSTC-A) headquartered on Camp Eggers, Kabul, Afghanistan. CSTC-A partners with the government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the international community to plan, program and implement structural, organizational, institutional and management reforms of the Afghanistan national security forces. The 500+ military members assigned to CSTC-A provide mentorship and training to the Afghan national army and to the Afghan national police in order to develop a stable Afghanistan, strengthen the rule of law, and deter and defeat terrorism within its borders. |
