Aesica brooch
Description
English: Copper alloy Aesica brooch, length 29mm, width 22mm, thickness 11mm, weight 5g. Tubular wings which hold the pin axis bar, there is a slot in the centre rear of the wings for the pin, the pin is missing. The head of the brooch is formed form a rectangular panel with knops on the lower corners. A crest runs down the centre of the head. A triangular plate forms the lower part of the bow, this has a complete catch plate on the reverse. Date AD 40-80
