English: Rolls Royce Merlin “F” category C, aircraft engine 1939 (1937.) and stand. The “F” was the pre-production series of Merlin engines, and this was the 30th engine built at the Rolls Royce Experimental factory in Derby, England. It was later sectioned in the workshops of No 4 Maintenance Unit, RAF Ruislip MDX, and made into a demonstration display model. .1 engine .2 stand with electric motor .1- .2- rectangular wooden base with four steel supports for holding engine; electrical motor located under panel at one end. label on motor reads- 'Metropolitan Vickers, Elec. Co. Ltd., Manchester, England, A.C. Motor - Representative Fairey Electrical and Engineering Co. Believed to have been brought to New Zealand as a demonstration model for the 1940-41 New Zealand Centennial Exhibition
