Description Shows part of the core near the Chateau Laurier, Rideau Canal, Sparks St. The turreted building, centre right, is the City Hall, destroyed by fire in 1931. The former Post Office is near the bridge and was demolished for the construction of the War Memorial. Across the Canal from City Hall are the train sheds of Union Station.
