Description
English: Aerial view of part of the Favona area of Māngere, ca 1987. Streets in view include Favona Road, Quennell Avenue, Lachlan Place, Wakefield Road, Burbridge Road, Cameo Court and Cardrona Place.The grounds of Favona Primary School lie near the intersection of Cardrona Place and Wakefield Road towards the centre of the photograph. Beyond Cardrona Place are the grounds of the Māngere Hospital and Training School. The upper reaches of the Harania Creek can be seen to the far left. (One of a series of aerial photographs taken for Wilsons Realty Ltd, Papatoetoe, during the summer of 1987-8. The names of roads and streets were hand-written on the original image.)
