Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Aegiceras corniculatum, commonly known as river mangrove, is distributed in coastal and estuarine areas ranging from India through South East Asia to southern China, New Guinea and Australia. It is very common in the mangrove fringes of the tidal waterways draining into Bramble Bay. Scattered specimens can be found growing among the Avicennia marina dominated mangrove community of the open coastal shores. Aegiceras corniculatum has the capacity to excrete salt from its leaves, which in dry weather can have a crust of salt crystals glittering in the sunlight.
