Adult Male Phidippus clarus Jumping Spider Here's a handsome little Phidippus clarus male I found last summer while out bug hunting with a friend. I spotted him from quite a distance, and instantly recognized the species due to those vivid red bits on the abdomen (see the shots below in the comment section). Upon photographing him and reviewing the shots I had taken - I noticed those beautiful grey metallic scales down the center of his abdomen. I apologize for the small upload size - this was a fairly significant crop. On another note - I finally got around to putting together a simple site for www.ThomasShahan.com - so if you're into arthropod photography, art, and bad singing - you may want to take a look... I've recieved a few e-mails recently from folks looking to buy prints - how many of you would actually be interested in buying some nice prints of my photos or maybe even a book? |
